Locator...the Golden Ring of Russia is an abstract name of the area located northeast of Moscow. It is famous for its small cities and towns, which once were the capitals of Kingdoms ruled by mighty Slavic Dukes. Despite their turbulent history and industrialization, many towns managed to preserve their original architecture and features of medieval times. There are some stunning cathedrals and monasteries built in the 9-17 centuries. Walking through the quiet streets of these ancient towns with horse drawn carriages passing by is fascinating.
