  • Trailblazer:
"I would like to recommend the agent who helped me to book the train tickets and one of my hotels for my journey on the Trans-Siberian. The agency is called Sokol Tours. It is based in the US and is headed by Artour Yatchenko, a Russian who lives in Pennsylvania. Artour is extremely knowledgeable and spared no time to explain to me the finer and more subtle details of a journey on the Trans-Siberian, the different trains and how to book tickets. Artour can also organize accomodation and tours in the different locations along the railway. Our trip ran very smoothly. Our tickets were delivered as promised in Moscow, Irkutsk and Ulan Baator. He has agents locally in the main cities (Moscow, Irkutsk, etc.), which proved invaluable when there was a slight issue with our hotel reservation in Irkutsk. Artour's local agent intervened immediately and resolved the issue very quickly. Sokol Tours was also able to provide us with the invitation required to obtain the Russian visa. Finally, our trip was organized for a reasonable premium to the cost of train tickets booked independently. I would warmly recommend Sokol Tours for organizing a journey on the Trans-Siberian."

"I would like to recommend the agent who helped me to book the train tickets and one of my hotels for my journey on the Trans-Siberian. The agency is called Sokol Tours and is listed on p.326 of your book, although I found them independently. As you may know, It is based in the US and is headed by Artour Yatchenko, a Russian who lives in Pennsylvania. Artour is extremely knowledgeable and spared no time to explain to me the finer and more subtle details of a journey on the Trans-Siberian, the different trains and how to book tickets. Finally, our trip was organized for a reasonable premium to the cost of train tickets booked independently. I would warmly recommend Sokol Tours for organizing a journey on the Trans-Siberian. Although they are already listed in the book, I believe they deserve a special mention."
