Check Diamond Fund of Russia in Moscow, Moscow Circus, Bolshoi Theater, or take a day tour into the country to see Russias Golden Ring towns. Yekaterinburg city (former Sverdlovsk) is one of the largest cities in Russia. To the travel community it is mainly known for Romanov family execution and the place where Europe and Asia meet. Novosibirsk city is the 3rd largest city in modern Russia. It is a great stop for folks interested in science, music, and archeology. The city stands on the banks of the Ob River. To the south of the city lie majestic Altai Mountains also known for sensational discoveries such as Ice (Scythian) Princess and an unknown human species, the "X-woman" in Denisova Cave. The stop at Irkutsk city will show you that Siberia is not just about cold and exile. Irkutsk city is one of the charming cities in Russia. We recommend staying at least 1 nights in the city and 1 night on the lake shore. The stop in Ulan-Ude city will introduce you to the largest Buddhist community in Russia. Make sure to visit the The Ivolginsky Datsan (Temple) and the Museum of Transbaikalian people. Ask if you can see the mummy of Dashi-Dorzho Itigilov. If time allows, take a day trip to visit the Old Believers. In Ulaanbaatar city, check the city, souvenir markets and Mongolian countryside.
