The Language Class (LC) is an intensive set of programs tailored towards short and long term visitors. It's main goal is to provide practical skills thru cultural immersion and intensive studies. If you are in Russia, Mongolia, China or Central Asia, even a few hours course will bring your cultural experience to a whole different level. It will give you confidence to engage in short conversation with local people and once accomplished, the rest is yours. Either you are looking for a crash course, or challenge yourself with the semester or full academic year programs, we will get you where you need to be.

Highlights:

  • LC = Russian, Mongolian, Chinese, Uzbek, Kyrgyz, Kazakh;

    [Option #1] 2 hrs / private lessons:
    Minimal course is 2 hrs. It is designed for short term visitors and mainly serves the purpose of getting comfortable with the bilingual dictionary and practicalities of using it on the streets. The teacher will test your pronunciation, and practice basic phrases commonly used in the market, train stations, airports and restaurants. Feel free to book up to 6 hrs at once (per day). If you are in town for few days and have time, the 4 hrs course per day is probably the most optimal.

    [Option #2] - 10 hrs per 1 week / private lessons:
    This option is an ideal for combining intensive studies with travel or business. You can take lessons daily or squeeze all 10 hours in 2-3 days, so that you can have the rest of the week to yourself. To make the most of this option, we suggest taking a few educational tours in between (see suggestions below). Tours present a great chance to meet people and practice the language with the guide or a driver. Standard LC curriculum includes (hours per week): Oral communication (3); Reading and vocabulary development (3); Pronunciation LAB (2); Writing (1); Grammar and structure practice (1);

    [Option #3] - 20 hrs per 1 week / group lessons:
    If you are looking for a study abroad program or certified language course, this option is for you. Group lessons are available only at most mid and large size cities. Semesters start annually on the first Monday of September (fall session), February (spring session) and July (summer session). Please check with for availability and schedules. Standard LC curriculum includes (hours per week): Oral communication (4); Reading and vocabulary development (4); Russian literature (2); Pronunciation LAB (2); Grammar and structure practice (4); Writing (2); Russian history, culture, and society (2). In some locations, it is possible to include courses related to business and technical language, humanities courses, and tutoring.

    [Option #4] 300 hrs per 15 wks (min) / group lessons:
    This option covers a full academic semester of studies. The program is available only at certain cities (mainly capitals and large cities). Semesters start annually on the first Monday of September (fall session) and February (spring session). Standard LC curriculum includes (hours per week): Oral communication (4); Reading and vocabulary development (4); Russian literature (2); Pronunciation LAB (2); Grammar and structure practice (4); Writing (2); Russian history, culture, and society (2). A full academic year of LS is at least the equivalent of two to three years of college-level course at home.
